I haven't done that in a while. But this deserves it.
Can't believe I saw it even.

51.94!!

First man ever under the 52 mark in the 100 backstroke.. and all that in just jammies and not a suit.
I forgot how much I love this sport.
Thank you Aaron.

I just sat on my windowsill and watched rather cool fireworks.
The local football club officially re-opened their new stadium today. They had to built new sections to accomodate the rules of the higher league they managed to enter this year.
Therefore a friendly was held between the club and Hertha BSC (the first league club of the city). I didn't even need to watch the game on TV, I could hear everything that was going on just fine.
Yes the stadium is that close. Anyway awesome fireworks and I didn't even need to leave my room.

Was shopping after work today and it's sort of cool to have some money when sales are going on.
I scored two pairs of earings as well as a sweater, the later for only 2.50.
Oh and I got my Dakine accessory bag for the backback I bought some weeks ago.
This sort of let my love for Dakine grew even more. Not only were they supper fast with delivering it they also put some small but cute suprises in it, like sheets of stickers with all the current Dakine logos and a chip for the mall trolleys.

Nothing else to tell.
My organisational skills concerning my thesis still seem to be hide somewhere. Can't find them anymore.
I am so massively stuck that I am this close to panicking. Not yet though, am still trying to get it done.
I am also reading books that have nothing to do with my thesis, which sort of helps trying to calm down again.
The thing is that I want to write either a Sam/Dean or a J2 version of one of the books. So not good. I can't use more distractions.

Also, US Nationals are going on and I sort of don't care. No, that isn't right I do care I just don't stay awake the whole night watching races on Live Timing.
Speaking of Nationals, wtf RyRy, did your hair explode?
the_milky_way: (number one (Dolan))
Oh yeah watching swimming live.
Especially interesting if Larsen is in the pool and doing good.
Peter Vanderkaay winning, Larsen Jensen being second and Erik Vendt third in the 500y free sounds nice and the race was nice to watch.
Klete skipped it and I have no idea why.

RyRy is still set to swim, the second time tonight.
ETA Ryan beat Mike in an IM race with American Record. OKay, only yards but heheh

But the best thing? Scott Tucker and Chad Carvin commenting. Man, that is awesome. Right now it is only Scott though.
It's been years since I have seen him. Nostalgia.

And Race Club swimmers everywhere, hi Julie and hi Nathan.

I think my cat has nightmares. Poor thing.
the_milky_way: (vanderkaays)
Holy cow.. nice. Go Pete!
Mike? Shut it. The hair is cool though.
I want to huggle Klete. 3rd in B-Final, ouch!
Rowdy is still annoying.

In other news, got the World Cup tickets. And the seats I wanted (well almost but very, very close).
Now I just have to wait and see when they'll arrive here.
the_milky_way: (larsen)
Seriously Rowdy Gaines is pissing me off. How many times can someone advertise NBC in one sentence? Argh...

Anyway, Klete and Larsen, Erik, Mike and Pete in one race. And Dave Salo cheering on. That's an image.
But yeah Klete is off, only 6th.
Pete! A Vanderkaay in front, a full body length.
Larsen 2nd beating Mike. Wow... nice race.
And whoever said Pete isn't bright can go and fuck themselves... Uhm...
Oh Klete, you really aren't back in it.

Kate beating Katie in the 400m Free was nice to see as well.

I think I like my sport again. I'll even see Larsen at medal ceremony.
Now I just need to learn to tune Rowdy out.

Edit: 100m Fly... epic battle... yeah well with Ian DQed (fucking flash light... and wow Rowdy admitting he was wrong about Ian's DQ, never thought I would hear that).. not so much. Man, and Ian shouldn't haven been DQed at all because it wasn't his fault. Damn...
The race was good though.
But Mike? Could you actually stop talking about your mother like that?
the_milky_way: (Default)
It can't be that hard to buy World Cup tickets can it? *pokes website* How about loading the final page? Hmmmpf....
Seems like I need to try the box office again. Great. The one time I want to take the easy way...

Anyway, watching Nationals is actually fun. Larsen and Erik being like it was 2003 instead of 2007. Klete being extra happy making the finals. Mike being well Mike...
Club Wolverine is its usual fast self.
And this is for Josi. Look; Kevin in 2007 and Jamie in 2006 and 2007.

I am feeling nostalgic right now, with all the swimming going on, the World Cup being back and so on... *sighs*

So Aaron is on the Psych Sheet for the Summer National and on the entry list for the French EDF Open meet. That in itself is not really noticable. What is though is the fact that both meets take place at the same time. I mean not only are there an ocean between the meet facilities but there is also the little inconvenience of not being able to be in two places at the same time.
I just really wonder where Aaron will show up. Everyone has been broadcasting him being in Paris. The strange thing though is that neither Amanda nor Jason, who will be in Paris, are on the Nationals Psyche Sheet. I don't have to get it but I will watch the Nationals now. Oh well, Klete is there so I would have anyway.
the_milky_way: (comfortable)
because I had to.

Thank you Robert for such pics. I wish I had those in big without the Watermarks.
Because headhsots with watermarsk are just urgh.

Some pics of the Aaron interview on on WCSN.com )

I promise I'll never do that again. I watched the race half with my hand in front of my eyes. I am a wreck, shivering and my heartrate is beyond healthy. But fuck it, it was Aaron against Mike and RyRy.
And I could kill them for doing that. It was a close race until the last 25m or so. Haven't been worked up over a race that much since the 2004 Olympic Trials. Goddamn Aaron!

God, someone should shoot me now.Seriously. Larsen is next and I so going to watch it. Okay Bren first then Larsen.
Excuse my while I go and be sick for some minutes.

BTW I hate C- and B-Finals at least at Nationals when I am already nervous enough. Thanks a lot for ruining my nerves a lot more than necessary. And yes I just have to bitch because it really is unhealthy to get worked up that much.

ETA 1 WOW. Holy cow Bren!
Also Aaron: meet record is cool.

ETA 2 Sheep Larsen made the team. Thank God. Even though Erik was almost 6 seconds ahead of him. But I think Larsen can do much better than a 15:11.11.
But wow Erik is back.

ETA 3 OMG JAMIE!... CW relay with Mike, Jamie, Davis and Klete. So cool. They won.
the_milky_way: (distance trio)
You know that you are strange when the photographer at a swim meet makes you go all "Eeee Robert". *coughs*

Yeah so I should dream more often about Klete being fast. I mean there was a reason why I stayed awake and watched the races live on Live Timing (you could as well go ahead and shoot me).
God, you know some day this sport will be the death of me. I am serious. I mean Klete being ahead of the field 2 seconds for the entire race..my heart rate was not healthy. Larsen finishing 3rd in a 400m race.
And oh Erik is back! I know Mike was disappointed with the swim but I still think it was amazing. Vanderkaays, a lot of Vanderkaays, at least two of them. RyRy!
Well Bren what will Suke say now? Yay for Aaron being in the stands and cheering. DORK!
Oh fuck it *huggles Klete and Larsen and Mike and everyone else I think is cool*

Oh and I got the intership. And I think I will be doing what I can do farely okay. Websites. Or better one website. *snorts*
I'll start tomorrow.

*is dead now* Where is my bed again? I am just happy that this will be over at the 5th. Seriously, I think I wont be able to stand watching Aaron.

[livejournal.com profile] slimyfishlover, I didn't forget about your Oreos. I actually got them today and I will send them off soon. So you'll have some again.
Galeria is selling them again after months of not even mentioning them.
the_milky_way: (Crocker(hiding somehow) (otherpictures))
I am nervous. Like really nervous and I can't explain why. Not only because of the intership interview tomorrow (even though that is only a small part of it) but there are several other things.
And well Nationals being on is not helping much to calm me down. And with them taking place in California means me probably being awake the whole night (Thank you Klete, still love you guys though) and with there being some kind of APO trouble (not serious so far) means I am nervous. Yes.

And I don't want to go alone tomorrow. Meh...
Okay I know I sound like 12 (or more like 3) and I know there is no real reason to feel like that but I can't help it.

Well I just don't really want to talk about all the other things, that woudl take too long, would depress me to no ends and would probably make everything worse.
So I guess I'll stay nervous for the rest of the week and freak out later again during Pan Pacs (if the boys should qualify). I am all hyped up and there is not way I actually know of to calm me down.
I wish it was Sunday already. I feel like a mental wreck. It's my own faul I guess, and it is so like me to not know how to get out of it again.

In other news:
ROMAN! and ARKARDY!
the_milky_way: (Larsen)
Three things to say:

1. OMG I got a "very good" on my Shakespeare paper. *faints*
2. OMG Nationals start Tuesday and I am way too nervous about that. I shouldn't be but yeah.. I can't even explain it.
3. It rained. Not that wasn't it. The EC is on and I am rooting for some of my own guys. No that wasn't it either. Oh yes, I am way too lazy. I am nowhere near anything I had planned on doing. Not to mention that my head is about to explode. But to make things worse, I feel okay with not doing anything, though I do want to finish Klete's new design before the Nationals start. And well get the drabbles posted.

***
PS, I think I still love Dave Salo.

How about Aaron Peirsol?
Dave: He called me the other way. It’s always neat to have those kids call you.

Distance swimmers Larsen Jensen and Kalyn Keller stayed at USC. Were you concerned they would transfer given your reputation as a sprint coach?
Dave: .... I have the skills to coach them. Larsen (and Kalyn) have been very responsive to me. We’ve made some changes to their strokes....

*hearts dave*
And well I think Larsen is in good hands :)
