♥ "The Pretty Reckless" in concert last night. And it was awesome. Okay, so it was very hot and my phone refused to record properly but the concert itself was great and I had a good time. Taylor just has a great voice and for a 17-year-old knows very well how to present herself. Yeah, it was hot. Waited around with [personal profile] sandrine for a couple of hours to maybe get autographs and pictures but that didn't quite work out. But we met some cool people along the way (and I wonder again how we ever managed things before cellphones, Twitter and Facebook). LOL

♥ They way home was another story. We could write a book about it now. So our little group of 6 actually managed to catch a night bus into the city center from where several of us wanted to catch a train home. Well, the bus worked out, catching a train as well until a certain point. It was 1.20am and me and a girl from our group going into my direction as well ended up stranded in one of our big train stations because the train service thought it cool to take a break for three hours. The best thing was, the train was full and no one knew what was happening until we reached the final destination. Yeah, that's what you call service and being customer friendly. This never happened to me before. never. Not at 1.20am. And this is supposed to be an international tourist spot. Right.

Anyway, we managed to get something to drink, rest for a while and decided to go looking for another night bus. There were several but none of them going into our direction so we decided to walk. We did for about an hour until we couldn't anymore. Ended up waiting for another 1 1/2 hours for the first train around 4.30am on one of the train stations along the way. At least it was a warm night and we weren't alone. Man, if I had been alone I probably would have freaked a little. Sat there and had a nice chat and still a good time. Was home around 5.00am and fell into bed. I didn't really wake up today, I till feel all dizzy and tired. And Taylor Momsen owes me a pair of new feet. Seriously, just walking around in my apartment hurts (and it's not blisters but actually the bones and muscles).

Still, I had a fun night.

♥ And now I'll try to read some BB. Can't really concentrate today but I'm bored and so not up for doing edits on my own story. But I do hope that the story I chose won't be as meh as the first one I read. I was sort of disappointed and the story idea was so great. Oh well, there will be lots of fic to read (and I have to admit I still have some BB 2010 fic to read).

♥ At least it's not so hot and humid anymore. But man, living through thunderstorms under the roof is kind of scary.

Fic first, for [livejournal.com profile] slippery_fish, who gave me the prompt with:
SPN - Sam/Demon!Brady - It's not fun unless someone bleeds.
"Crash, crash, burn let it all burn (This hurricane is chasing us all underground.)"
R, 2.365 words

I wonder who will actually read this... Yay for rare pairings... LOL

♥ My weekend was good. First two days in the row that I was outside and didn't feel like I needed to sit down every two seconds.
Went shopping and grovey shopping on Saturday.. yay ice cream.

Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] slippery_fish and me decided to meet up and use the beautiful weather. There was a green environmental festival (like every ear) in the city organized by the group we both had interships at.
This year, due to the weather, it was very, very crowded. Got to see some things and there were SHEEP! See.. pic and video ).

On the way back we wanted to take the bus but it wasn't going the way we needed it to, even though it said so at the stop. Anyway at one of the most famous place in the city, right across from the Humboldt University and next to the State Opera there were masses of people and a huge video screen ). And a huge stage as well. It was the second day of the annual "Opera for Everyone" event that takes place every years, is held by the State Orchestra and sponsored by BMW. It was the last concert at this place for the next three years, since the house the State Opera will be renovated. It was very interesting to see people cheer fro classical music but Daniel Barenboim really is very much loved in this city. They played Tchaikovsky.

Stopped at Starbucks afterwards and had frappucinos. And I could rest my feet in the water. Which was very nice... for my feet ).

So yeah, I think I used the weather rather well and it wasn't too hot due to the slight breeze. I got a little color as well and don't look as sick as I did last week.

I don't know if the guys at the 4images support foprum think they are funny or helpful, I personally think they are annoying.
I am not the only one with a gallery where template files vanished. Some people already asked how it can be solved and why it happened.
The answer every single time was that a certain file in the template folder is missing.
Great, we all know that. It would be nice if they could say where we can find that missing file. It would even help if they said just install the new version of the gallery.
But no, they can't seem to be able to manage such simple answers.
*headdesk*
Just awesome.

If the freaking mail service goes on strike before I have my concert tickets can I drag them to court?
N ot that I'll ever be able to pay for that... but seriously, what can I do then?
Bah.....

I just came home from a really good concert. It's been a few months since [livejournal.com profile] slippery_fish told me Vienna Teng would be in town for a concert today. I knew some of her songs, not many though. And mostly because [livejournal.com profile] slippery_fish pimped them out to me and then proceeded to other means of persuasion like writing a story for me which had one of Vienna's songs as a background. The song is "Harbor" and the story is called "On the way to the harbour – 657 miles" it can be found here (it's Torchwood, Ianto/Jack).
The concert was awesome!
They always say live concerts can destroy a artist or underline the talent he/she has... and this concert might have made me a fan tonight. As I said I just knew some of the songs. I wanted to see what else she does song-wise and music-wise. Going to this concert was a very good idea (thanks Josi :) ) nbecause some of the songs had me just sitting there, letting the music wash over me and feeling it. It's hard to describe, I actually had goosebumps sometimes. Songs like "Gravity" or "Whatever you want" just get under your skin, but strangely enough her "happy" song "City Hall" was one of my favourites. Her voice comes across so powerful when it is live. And the sound in the 1920s salon/cinema/theatre was great as well, which just underlined her voice and how awesome her supporting musicians were. And she even played "Harbor".
She even came out after the concert and singned CDs and posters. I even spent some money, got her newest CD and had it signed.
That woman is sweet and cute in a very special way, and I can't really describe it. Impressive.
So yeah this evening was great. And I am still in a squee mode and smiling..
For more fangirling head over to slippery_fish's LJ.

ETA: I totally forgot to mention how she ended the concert. First she and her musicians played some additional songs including "Cecillia" and then she came back onto the stage all alone and without any instruments. She just stood there and sang an old Chinese folk song, some kind of lullaby. It was totally quiet. Awesome.
