the_milky_wayShort prelims post... because I am actually studying on the side (or pretend to..).
Watching prelims almost always leaves me kind of angry at some of the guys (and girls). No matter if I am there to see it live or watch it on the screen.
Just now Aaron kind of scared the hell out of me... he qualified for the semis tonight (which I hate btw.. I hate semi finals) but he was just 6th. Randall kicked butt though, as did Ryan.
KLete qualified as well and I am praying for him to make it into finals.
Larsen once again was the surprise of the race. Was actually 2nd fastest qualifier in his 200m free heat.. And he always said the short races aren't for him. Guess coach Salo saw that differently.
Amanda!!! Amanda qualified for semis, too. Wheeeee.
Natalie broke the WR in the prelims, after it was broken in the heat before hers (kind of reminds me of Barcelona and that 100m Fly race).
ETA: God I so miss seeing them live. Right now I actually wish I could be there and watch, even though I know it probably would break my heart to see some of them not make it.

It's kind of interesting to see how these boys have grown up in the past four years. I mean, Ryan and Mike seem to be a lot more competitive, well, maybe not Mike, but Ryan (or I could just be reading into things). I don't know about Aaron, though.

*nods* Yes, maybe you are right... Might be a bit more competitive.. Aaron? Well, Aaron basically seems like the same laid back Surfer due he always has been... which kind of helps to get through rough times I guess.... even when he is struggling he tries to get somehting positive out of it. Of course he ist still competing at a very high level.

Ryan's definitely laid back too (and a freak, but we knew that). I have vague memories of you worrying that Aaron was far too laid back (Gah. The idea of Aaron/Ryan is stuck in my head and I don't know why) or am I just making that up?

Yes, you are right.. sometimes I worry that Aaron is too laid back and that it might mess with his timing.. like taking it slow and easy and not qualifying for a final or something. It never happened before... But Aaron has always been like that.
Ryan is weird indeed. *g* But that makes up his charm.
I am a worrier, too.

That is true, Aaron has always been like that. And I forget that. Which is why I do't know that I probably couldn't write Aaron/Ryan. Also, yes, it is totally part of Ryan's charm.
