I so need a new VCR, or a DVD reocrder or someone with aVCR/ DVD recorder.
I sooo want to tape the Short Course World Champs in Manchester next month. I totally forgot that it is in April. Whaaaaa....
I need to, Larsen will be there and I want him on tape (or DVD). Ryan will be there as well, so yeah.... (not to mention Randall, Nathan, Rachel and Julie). No question that I'll watch it but I want to have it as well...
ARGH... why is my VCR not working during an Olympic year (oh shit I need to find a solution before Beijing)??
God... *headdesk* *flails* Uhm, guess I have to save some money to buy one.
And it fits that I jusrt finished my last peanut butter M&M's. *pouts*
*goes off to search amazon for recorders*

And I so would go for a DVD recorder. Much better quality than a VCR.

Date: 2008-03-22 10:16 pm (UTC)I am actually looking for an affordable DVD/VCR combi... I need to get my old tapes on DVD some day and get rid of the tapes. But right now I don't really have 300€ on the side.
My VCR has been broken since summer but I totally forgot about Manchester and Beijing. I didn't really need to tape anything lately.
*sighs*
I think I go back to being panicky... just to amuse you. ;)

Date: 2008-03-22 11:09 pm (UTC)And you got a point. If you need to get the tapes on DVD than you don't really have a choice. And that kinda suck because of all that money. Don't they come any cheaper???
And I am always forgetting about the Olympics. When do they actually start???

Date: 2008-03-22 11:19 pm (UTC)The cheapest one I found was a DVD/VCR recorder without a harddrive for 205€, for 70€ more it has a 160GB harddrive as well.
I think I'll talk to my grandma tomorrow, since she has a Quelle account and might be able to get percentage or rates or something. I have to see when I'll have the money.
Oh I haven't fogotten about Olympics since 1996 (and covered them for the sites I have from the 2000 Games onwards).
The Games are from Aug. 08 to Aug. 24 2008.

Grandma is always good. Maybe she'll do some sponsoring. Maybe there is an special offer soon and you would get a recorder a bit cheaper. *crosses fingers*
I already missed the last Winter Olympics although same continent and all that. I don't know how much of this year's Olympics I'm gonna watch. Probably not that much with being 7 hours ahead of us.

Date: 2008-03-23 10:16 am (UTC)Oh sponsoring is always good. I'll see what I can do... but I honestly always try to get stuff like that with my own money.
My brother is still trying to get a good price for my new mp3-player (which he promised me for Christmas).
LOL, well if you don't really have a sport which you want/have to see then I guess it isn't all the uncommon to miss the Olympics.
I am kinda in Icehockey so I did watch the Winter Olympics.
Beijing, well thanks to NBC they changed the schedule which means for swimming that the finals are in the morning and the prelims are in the evening... So I guess I have to be up pretty late (or early depends on the way you see it). Meeep... Oh well... I'll see how it goes.

Date: 2008-03-23 10:04 pm (UTC)Actually I am more into Wintersports than the summer stuff. But it's no fun watching it all by yourself. And during the last Olympics I was kinda occupied with my degree and all, so no time for watching.
Time difference sucks big time. I remember the Atlanta games, that really was a pain in the ass, and this time it's not going to be any different. I see days with very little slepp for you in the future LOL

Date: 2008-03-24 09:53 am (UTC)*g* Nah, it's okay because my brother said he just wanted to wait a little after Christmas till the prices are a little down again. So far we hadn't much luck but I understand it. It took almost a year for him to get the right computer for me.. ;)
Hehe, well hopefully I'll be finsihed with my degree before the Olmypics. :)
I actually only really watched icehockey and figure skating.
Oh Atlanta. I was in the US at that time, it was awesome. :)
Sydney though was even worth with the time difference, I had some free periodes at school and could go home to watch swimming in the morning.
Busy days? Oh that might be an understatement... LOL
