This is how it works: Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.

And now it gets difficult
Hot... The tea I am drinking right now (okay I admit that I am staring at certain pictures but it still is mainly the tea)
Home.. (and wow I am not even thinking about the Supernatural ep now)... is were I am right now and which I'll have to leave in an hour again. Berlin is home. My family and friends are.
House M. D. ... I love the show (and hey I actually have a favourite show starting with H).
Hockey... I am watching and reading it again... I am in fangirl mode again and this hasn't happened in years concerning hockey. I just never know what to write about it, I am so out of it anyway. But it is fun and it is Play-off's again.
Hayden Christensen... because i still think he can act (if he gets the right script) and because he'll always be Ani
Hawaii.. Either the Pizza, the toast or the real island. I just love them.. :)
Harry Potter... Oh come on, you need an explanation for that?
Hansen.. as in Brendan Hansen (yes I know it is cheating), part of the trio, Suke... um breaststroke.
Hungary... I spent most of my holidays there when I was a child. A lot of memories.
Hilda... uhm, is a cow (and no, you don't have to get that)

Meanwhile, Kristin over at E Online is having a Save Our Show campaign. Basically, you mail in the show you want back next season. So, what are you dudes waiting for? E-mail here with 'Supernatural' in the subject line and perhaps a few words of support. Nothing wrong with being cautious and supportive now, is there? ;)

Date: 2006-04-26 02:10 pm (UTC)Well, it was allowed to travel within the Eastern Bloc, with certain restrictions, like how much money you were allowed to change (that was a reason why a lot of people brought stuff they could exchange, smuggeling clothes and porcelain and things was normal, to have a better holiday, to pay for things). My mum was a lot in Hungary when she was a teenager (back in the 70s) so she took me when I was old enough to stay in a car for 1 1/2 day. But I got to know Hungary only after the wall came down, so I was kinda used to be able to travel everywhere by then.
And I think Hungary is an amazing country with amazing, totally nice people (at least they were to us, probably because we were tourists). It is pretty warm there.
They have old castles and churches, a lo to see.
Awww, sleep well. And hugs back to Peppe. ♥
Hope you won't get sick. *hugs* ♥ ♥

Date: 2006-04-27 02:47 pm (UTC)I love old churches and castles! I am not a religious person, but the pictures of the churches in Europe look so pretty! Ours are kind of boring here because 100 is considered ogl for a building. (My old school bulding was built in 1919, and when I was 8, that was practically ancient).
And I am practically writing you an essay here, so I will shut up and give you a hug back :)

Date: 2006-04-27 04:41 pm (UTC)I barely remember growing up in such a restictive system but I remember enough to know what it was like and that we actually were good. We had a good life as kids but I know that if it had been there when I grew older I think I would have had problems with it as well. As a child you never realize in what kind of system you are in. That comes later. But yes it was commong to smuggle or *trade* stuff. People were very inventive due to the lack of material and money.
I love old churches as well. And yes, you are right 100 years isn't that old but you know a lot of houses here aren't any older either. The war got a lot of the really old buildings. But thank God, there are countries and towns in Europe (and Germany) which weren't effected by the war.
Seeeee, essay here as well.. :)
*hugs*

Date: 2006-04-28 03:43 pm (UTC)Our house is in the 'older' part of town, which is only old by Australian standards, but I am glad we have this house because my room is very big compared to the ones in new houses. Of course, thay just means that I have more room to make a mess. My German teacher always says we have young houses and churches.
It will be interesting when I got to Europe one day and visit the old Churchs because my dad will be like 'You? Went to a Church? Is the world coming to an end' because I never go since our family is not into it. I will jsut explain it was for the prettiness value.
You know what must be good about having one Germany now? You get to have the world cup on both sides! And Nici Store.
(Yes, I am a shallow Aussie sometimes!)

Date: 2006-04-28 08:08 pm (UTC)Hey, I know what you mean by asking questions. And I am glad you do so. I don't mind you asking or answering you. That's toally okay, if it helps you understand us crazy Germans a bit better.. :)
I guess can say that I have been lucky to live in two different system and in two differen states (GDR and now Germany) without having to move out of my hometown. I think it is strange sometimes to think about how my grandma lived in four different kind of states (she was born before WWII). But the older I get the more memories of how things were before get lost. People tend to only remember good things or really bad things.
LOL, you know I see really old houses every day, so when you get used to it it somehow loses the appeal. But even I love 1000 year old churches, or the oldest church in Berlin is from the 13th century and I love to look at the stones and think "Whoa, I can actually touch something that old". So I get you when you talk about going into a church. But here it is normal to just go in there and look, you don't need to pray or even be religious.
You know what must be good about having one Germany now? You get to have the world cup on both sides! And Nici Store.

*cuddles* See, I knew you would get the mostimportant advantages. I so know you. You are totally right. :P

Date: 2006-04-29 03:46 pm (UTC)Four different kind of states!? She must have so many stories and things she remembers from that! I have always wondered what Berlin is like - is it still obvious that the city used to be cut in half and was really different on each side? Or has time kind of made it into one city where you can really see that? For some reason, I have pictured that they look different and you can tell.
*cuddles back* I always know the important things that relate back to sport, shopping and Idol. Oh yes, another good thing about being one country is getting both Vanessa AND Daniel ;)!

Date: 2006-04-30 12:54 pm (UTC)Yes, I think my grandma has a lot o tell. She is 71 now and still a very active woman. So I hope to have her around for another 10 or 20 years.. :) Or even longer, who knows.
As for Berlin, a lot has changed in the lst 16 years. At the beginning you coul tell that there are/were two different parts. The Western part was more flashy, colorful and louder. The Eastern part was grey, subdued in a way (due to the lack of money and due to the way the system worked). I always now when I crossed the former border, things suddenly got dirtier and greyer. But that's not really the case anymore. Probably because a lot of things were rebuild, build new and totally changed the face of the city. And I think people changed as well. Sure you can still see differences if you really look but not as much as you still can in the rest of the country.
I think that if you wouldn't know which part belongs to East and West, you couldn't tell (at leas not in the inner city, the suburbs are another thing).
*hugs*
LOL, you know I could actually go without those two...*g* But yes you arer ight, we are coming up with pretty good advantages..LOL
