I really, really love AUs in fiction and I have to say that's a major part of why I liked this. I know it sounds strange and it probably won't be agreed upon by half my flist (because it's 'just' a filler, how I hate the word 'just' in there).
Yes, I am aware that everybody wants to go on with the storyline, but seriously I kind of needed a little break from it. I needed to see Sam and Dean together even if it hurts a little.
Maybe it was the wrong place to show this ep, but then again where in the schedule should it have been placed anyway?
I know you can never really sastisfy anyone, but the kind of complaining and whining going on is starting to get on my nerves a little.
But I guess that's just fandom and happens to every show. Makes sense in a way.
I do complain as well, not about everything though ;)
I laughed and giggled. Inside jokes for the win. :)
I needed that. I think I was in the right mind-set for it anyway.
Also, I so know why they are my OTP. *nods*

So Dean still wants to fight. It's still there. He still wants to be with Sam, on the road, live their lives.

Castiel's superior. I like that.
Zachariah is kinda cool and very omnious if oyu ask me. I have no real idea what he means with all that.
But there is greater meaning behind it.
"I am not one of your ducks." Thank you Dean.
Zachariah is right. As sad as it is, he is right.
Destiny again. And being omnious again.
"Angel or not, I will stab you in the face."
I just wish Sammy would be there. What is it with Sam not being there in the end lately?
I am not sure if Dean is supposed to come across as whiny, I always thought it was supposed to be a hurting Dean. Is it the writer's why to say they think Dean has ben emo and hurting enough now?
I don't know if I like them doing it this way. But it surprisingly fit with the whole mood of the episode.
The snark and the bitching and them just being them, if only for a little time. It's so obvious that they do work best together. That they both actually want to work together.
It's obvious what both if them want, but really no on can tell me that Sam doesn't care anymore. It's all he does now. He fucking cares forhis brother, for their lives and he wants to fight for it.
This episode had so many role reversals that I am kinda dizzy trying to separate them all. But they make sense.
They show the relationship under a different light, with different aspects but still show that they are Sam and Dean.
They were so confused and I liked it.
It's a little like season one again with them researching a simple case and just doing their thing again. Sam was so set on being smething more than jujst a simple tech guy. It shows how much he has changed and still is Sam. Yes, he kind of resisted seeing himself as something more for so long that it is now part of him.
Dean is far from the man he was in season one but then again not. But I think he needed to hear that he can do things. He really needed it even if he doesn't think so.
It was all about the role reversal here.
And I don't know but I think it's odd that Sam wasn't there or even mentioned in the end. You'd think he'd be as much part of Dean's destiny as everything else. Maybe there are other plans for Sam, maybe they want Dean to not think aout Sam for once. I don't know and I am curious. I don't know if I'll like what will come out of it in the end. I will always want Sam and Dean to be together though.
So yes, I liked this episode. A lot.
I even liked the way the myth arch was integrated without being too obvious. And even if it was a filler ep I think it means a little more than people seem to give it credit too (maybe because there was no Castiel??).
I think a lot of people are miffed by that beause it's all about the angels now, I understand that, doesn't mean I have to like it all that much.
But I still liked this a lot.
And really, brothers together on screen is always nice.
I saw the preview, but other than that I am not spoiled. I am so looking forward to it.
