Yes, of course they both had their reasons and I am pretty sure they are feeling this way but then again they don't really talk to each other. Sam doesn't, but Dean doesn't either and he is the one telling Sam he doesn't trust him anymore.
I do feel for Dean as well (it was harsh and I think it was meant to be), doesn't mean I have to hate Sam now.
Yeah, the ending hurts. And you are right, this bumps is getting uncomfortably huge. *sighs*
