20 Questiosn with Erik Vendt
3 I don’t hear the fervent flag-waving Erik Vendt I heard a few years ago. What’s the deal here?
Erik: Yes, I was gung-ho. I am still proud to be an American. I freely admit that I have changed, but it’s in a good way. Traveling to Europe makes you see a different way of life, and just because people don’t see things our way doesn’t mean they are wrong. I took all of these experiences and cultures from other people I met, and it has taught me a lot about other walks of life. It taught me a lot about myself, and our country, too.
6 This isn’t a trip. It sounds more like an adventure, right?
Erik: We hit every major city in Europe – all the major countries, too. I really did a lot of soul-searching, met a lot of people and came to a lot of conclusions.
17 Tell us something about your good friend Klete Keller.
Erik: You know what? Klete doesn’t have many of those “Klete moments” that we all knew and loved. Like me and the others, he’s grown up, and he’s developed. He’s a very bright man. You wouldn’t guess what Klete is doing now. He’s building a deck around his house here, and it looks great – no kidding, like it’s professionally done. He could make a living doing it, that’s how great it is. He’s such a talented person, and he’s very deep.
He has changed. I have read a lot of his interviews and that is definitely someone who grew up.
Thank you Erik!
