Thank God I have everything on CD since the last time the PC was away (some weeks agaon when I had the iBook), so I won't lose any data. *sighs* And yes I think the smell comes form the ventilator on the graphic card.
As for the latop it won't start on battery anymore only on nomral power. And yesit wokred fine yestewrday and even this morning. And I closed Wondows, shut it down and unplugged it before I left for uni. So now it starts, shows the black screen and that's it. So I think it is a booting error.
