"Dolan walked over three lanes, gave me a hug to wish me luck and almost sensing my nervousness said, "Let's do it." Though it was only three simple words, it spoke volumes and relaxed me completely. It was inspirational and relaxing and without a doubt it helped me enormously.

I tell that story because throughout everything, when my nerves and anxiety were through the roof, Dolan was a rock; immovable and uncompromising and ever so confident. Though I always understood Dolan was great because of his toughness, that story shows me why he was the best. Beyond swimming, he was a great guy and good friend. Tom, I'm gonna miss you and good luck.
