I have to admit that I don't really know what to think about this episode.
There are some things that felt off, like they were trying too hard but then there were things that I really liked. It felt a little like the writing or directing was off, too. I am not sure what it was but something wasn't quite right. Did like most of it though.

I liked that they sort of continued from where they left of last week and that they plot wasn't just hacked of and made into another comedic filler episode.
The talk between Gabriel and Lucifer was interesting to watch and seeing Gabriel die wasn't all that nice, but it sort of didn't too much as much as the last few eps have. I just hope it isn't all that much foreshadowing.
I do hope that Gabriel's tips help but then I find it sort of blah that they go with the whole 'quest' thing here. But considering the preview I guess it can actually work out and not turn into some Lord of the Rings thingy or something similar. Interesting that there is hope now but that the one archangel that was on their side is dead. That scene between Gabriel and Lucifer was great though. It really was.

Despite the minor things that felt a little off it was entertaining and I even laughed out loud at a lot of references.
It was funny but then there were really sad and serious undertones. I liked that they finally acknowledged what other Gods must think of Christianity's little war. But then I found it rather surprising that the Gods had no chance against Lucifer. I guess it is supposed to show how powerful he really is, still made me cringe a little.

On a shallow note (like every ep lately): the boys look so very young and good. And they look HOT when wet! *nods*
Also, again there is no subtext anymore in this show... they are just making it so obvious... No matter who. Nice one liners.

I liked Sam and Dean's dinner scene, it was serious but then Dean was the one trying to cheer Sam up, haven't seen that in a while (and considering the preview they are back to being brothers -- for now). That was nice to see.

Meh, why did they have to kill the Trickster? No more funny eps with him.
But it really is in the tradition of the Trickster eps, hillarious one liners and scenes with very dark and sad scenes mixed in.

Oh next week looks very interesting. I am looking forward to that.
