spn 3.08 "a very supernatural christmas"

I am stil tired enough to post it now instead of going over it again. There is a lot I liked about this one but for the first time this season I think there were more things that made me squirm.
Or maybe I shouldn't have watched it half asleep at night. I will watch it again though. But I say that every time .
Mostly it was about the brothers only, which was nice for a change. And some scenes were really great.
Oh interesting beginning.
Oh oh. That was.. bloody.
Oh I like that. I like the style. This intro was cool.
Oh Dean. So much an agent. Being all professional. Yeah, he brings it across and people have no doubt or reason not to believe him.
Sam makes a nice agent, too.
Sam looking so smug when he tells Dean about his idea. Brothers. So much.
I liked this scene.
Oh dude, Santa's village? I go with Dean here, where is the snow?
OMG, the deer's eyes? Not funny.
The banter is cool though.
Sammy all zoned. out. But I didn't really get the flash back because I had the feeling it was kinda out of the usual canon.
Sam in the Pilot complained about his childhood and the he knew the things too soon. And here he didn't know until that age? I don't know.
It's just a bit strange that they did it this way.
The scene though was good.
Oh Dean, back again to embarrassing Sam. Sam always ends up being the butt of Dean's jokes. *snorts* Lovely.
God, Sammy. He just doesn't know when to shut up (well that kinda makes him sound either innocent or totally naive. I don't know if I like that.
It's like what they are doing with Dean sometimes, making him seem stupid and judgemental at times.).
But the banter was cool and they were actually working together and being together the whole time. Yay.
It is a bit strange that Sam is the one not liking Christmas, but on the other hand he didn't like Halloween either.
All those family holidays. Dean is all for it.
OMG.. OMG... NOOOOOO.
That is so embarrassing. Because, dude he can sing and... OMG drunk Santa.
The boys not knowing the words. That is sad.
But still.. OMG.
Hillarious. Embarrassing but hillarious.
And then that scene following.
So not family friendly.
I think I might be a little bit sick.
Ewwwwww!
So only kids can see the bad Santa, like they are the only ones who can see the good one? Interesting theory. Makes scense though.
And Dean is insinuating again that Sam is the gay one there. Oh Dean, that sometimes sounds a bit homophobic don't you think? *pats Dean* I know what you mean though.
Sam the geek.
Heheh. That was kinda cute.
Ah, no snow. That's why.
Oh Sam. All flustered again.
The sigh. Sammy-sigh.
I like the sigh. I loved the scene.
They are talking. They are talking again.
Sam is not letting him go. That's for sure.
And man, that is depressing.
Loved this. I really loved this here. And it is breaking my heart.
All those scenes are.
Little Sam is already being smart and a geek.
And he outsmarts Dean there. That is so Sammy. And Dean knows it. He has know that since they were kids and he doesn't really mind, he just acts like he does. He is proud of Sam for being sharp and smart. He really is proud of him.
And Daddy Winchester leaves his journal behind when he is on a hunt? I don't really believe that. Again the flashback kinda threw me, because here it was so out of the blue why Sam suddenly asks about everything.
There was no real reason other than it being Christmas and John not being there. I think it was just placed wrong (or they had not much time doing it, which makes sense as well).
Anyway, maybe I just wanted too much out of it but it dissappointed me a bit. Not much because it was played all right but still.. *shrugs*. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it was bad or anything, it was just not what I hoped it would be.
It just shows again how fucked up their childhood really was. It's sad.
Oh Dean, always with the food.
*huggles* They way Sam slaps his fingers? Awesome. Sam's face? Even more awesome.
This house is creepy.
So much Christmas spirit can't mean anything good.
Yeah, right. Ewww.
Sam's face says it all.
This is sick. Really sick.
Oh Fuck. I jumped.
Ouch Dean.
Sammy getting choked.
Yeah, this wouldn't be Supernatural without it.
See, I know why I don't like Christmas spirit like that.
Way too friendly for my taste. Nothing good.
No. no.. please don't. Holy Hell!
And in additon: OUCH!
Dean: "If you fudging touch me again." Show her Dean.
OMG. OMG. Dude. Sammy!!!! Ouch and Ewww.
I am sick now.
Those two are seriously crazy.
Sammy. Oh... Why do I always find him hot when he looks like he did in BUABS?? Because dude, I would jump that. Scratch that, I really, really wil jump that.
Dean stealing a Barbie for Sam. *snorts*
And Sam just looks right through him. He just knows his brother.
Nice scene though.
So that's how Dean got he pendant. Nic scene between the two. Even though it was for John the necklace is just made for Dean as it seems.
It just doesn't say what it does and what it is. It's so Sam to do that and it explains why Dean is always wearing it (and there is my theory with the love thing). Bobby knows what it is though.
But yeah, I was again a bit disappointed.
But it was sweet.
Sammy doing Christmas for Dean. Sweet. Oh so sweet.*snorts*
It's touching. Sam is trying so much. And Dean, for now, appreciates it.
Presents.
Those are so like the brothers.
This last scene is Sam and Dean but it is Jared and Jensen as well.
And you can see that. It's nice. I liked that ending a lot. One of the really good parts of this episode.
All in all it was a slow paced episode and a bloody one (it reminded me a bit of Torchwood's season 1 episode "Countrycide", just from the visuals). Sometimes though I had the feeling that the pacing was a bit off, especially during the flashbacks. I liked most of them, I liked the new young!Sam (even though he was almost blond here), but the kid!Dean kinda throws me every time in this episode. I mean I can see his motivation and why he is doing all the stuff (like stealing presents for his brother ending up with a Barbie, just to make him feel *normal* and give him a good Christmas) but something bugs me. It's not bad though, I still liked it well enough to enjoy watching it.
The scenes between the adult brothers though had me smiling and sometimes sighing because they were sweet and lovely and heartbreaking and sad at the same time. Dean is starting to deal better but he also tries to prepapre Sam. Sam might be able to live without Dean (because he already has) but Dean will never be able to live without Sam being there (and some parts of the flashbacks showed that, too). It is heartbreaking to see that.
And the next thing I don't mean in a slashy/sexual way but in this episode I had the feeling that Dean is in love with Sam. It's hard to epxlain, and I better maybe say it like this: that Dean loves Sam more than Sam might know (or might ever give back).
It seemed like they were close again this ep. Sam and Dean are not so into each other's face with the whole Deak thing and trying to save each other. This was a quiet episode and I am more to believe that Sam is still trying to save Dean but that for the first time he tries to calm down and see things differently. Dean though tries to have a real Christmas with his brother, it's not really like he has given up but that he is arranging with the situation. Sam's fight is going on more internally here. He sees Dean's POV a little bit better now. I don't know what will happen bit I sure as hell hope that Dean comes out alive in the end, that both of them are. It's going to break my heart I am sure of it but I hope Dean and Sam will be there at the end of the season.
As for the brotherly bond and the relationship between them and the way they are dealing with their situation this episode was amazing, as for everything else, well it was good (I just felt thrown sometimes). And it was good concerning the creepiness-factor. Dude, those were some sick pagan gods. And I always thought you can't kill Gods. Well, good that you can with those. *shudders*.
And now we have like 4 episodes left. For now anyway.
So until January then. *sighs*
