Two other swimmers set U.S. Open records on the day. James Hickman of Great Britain broke Tom Malchow's U.S. Open record in the 200m fly with a winning time of 1:53.18. In the 800m free, Flavia Rigamonti of Switzerland and SMU won the event in 8:17.28.
