Why oh why is a 200m back race the highlight of my day?

I promise I'll never do that again. I watched the race half with my hand in front of my eyes. I am a wreck, shivering and my heartrate is beyond healthy. But fuck it, it was Aaron against Mike and RyRy.
And I could kill them for doing that. It was a close race until the last 25m or so. Haven't been worked up over a race that much since the 2004 Olympic Trials. Goddamn Aaron!

God, someone should shoot me now.Seriously. Larsen is next and I so going to watch it. Okay Bren first then Larsen.
Excuse my while I go and be sick for some minutes.

BTW I hate C- and B-Finals at least at Nationals when I am already nervous enough. Thanks a lot for ruining my nerves a lot more than necessary. And yes I just have to bitch because it really is unhealthy to get worked up that much.

Also Aaron: meet record is cool.

ETA 2 Sheep Larsen made the team. Thank God. Even though Erik was almost 6 seconds ahead of him. But I think Larsen can do much better than a 15:11.11.
But wow Erik is back.

ETA 3 OMG JAMIE!... CW relay with Mike, Jamie, Davis and Klete. So cool. They won.

You confused me! My first thought was "WTF? Aaron wasn't in the 200 m backstroke finale!". But then I realized you didn't talk about the EM finale at all. ;-)

*laughs* I am sorry. Wasn't my aim to confuse you. Yes, I was kinda hooked on the Nationals.

I actually saw both finals and was happy for Arkardy and a bit disappointed about Markus' fourth place.

We were all a bit disappointed about Markus' fourth place, but well, he can't win every time. I'm sure he's going to do better next time :-).

Yeah, I hope so. He said on Eurosport that he wanted to send a message to Aaron witht he 200m back race but I believe that wasn't the one he wanted to deliver.

I doubt that, too. According to a blurb I read on teletext, he actually felt pretty good in the race, he didn't think he was that far away. But he also stated several times that he was way more nervous right before the races than he usually is.

Wonder why he was so nervous, that's kinda unusal for him.

And seems like Aaron was in the same state, he as well thought he was way faster in the race than they actually were.

Yep, weird is right. I am looking forward tot he Pan Pacs from August 17th on. Maybe Aaron then knows what went wrong. As for Markus I don't know when he will swim again.

I don't know either. I have to admit that pretty much the only time when I watch swimming competitions is when it's some big event (championships, Olympics).
