Well, he kind of owes Derek for manipulating Jennifer into giving him back his sight.

(Though, really, I'd be surprised if Deucalion's reasons were entirely selfless. Chances are that he wants something. Possibly the same thing the finger-stealing people wanted, aka the whereabouts of "the she-wolf".)
